Frequently Asked Questions

Why is Next Level Prep in existence?

To give high school football players more opportunities to achieve their dreams of playing college football while receiving a first-class education.  Chuck Roper has been training local high school football players in Western North Carolina since 1997.  He has only worked with athletes willing to make the sacrifice necessary to get to the next level.  Chuck Roper realized that many athletes in the community were coming close to reaching their potential, but failing to do so.  He stepped in and helped prep athletes on a number of fronts.  He trained them at local high schools every week during the off-season.  Rain, sleet, or snow, he knew that these unpleasantries would be part of every college player's experience, so they were never excuses not to get in a good work out.  Leading up to the season, Chuck Roper would contact college coaches and promote these athletes, single-handedly generating scholarship offers just by giving college coaches access to the athletes he was training.  Today, it is more important than ever to earn a scholarship to off-set rising tuition costs, which now average over $20,000 per year for private colleges.  In order to provide the best, most personalized service to each athlete, every person associated with NLP has been hand-picked for their expertise.  Next Level Prep is here for you.

Do I really need Next Level Prep?

"My coach has contacts and is willing to help me in the recruiting process."  This is usually the case, yet the fact remains that despite the hard work and effort your coach puts in on your behalf, he has a limited amount of time and resources to promote you, and can not do so to the extent that NLP can.  Your coach can not dedicate his full attention to promoting you.  He is critical in the recruiting process because many college coaches will get in touch with him to get a first-hand account of your abilities.  But, when it comes to getting more colleges interested in you, NLP offers a dedicated staff that is focused on preparing you to be your best and making sure every football team in the country who might want you to play for them knows about you.

When should I sign with Next Level Prep?

As soon as you know you have the ability and desire to play at the next level, contact us.  The majority of NLP athletes will sign on as Juniors in high school, but the sooner you sign up, the more prepared you'll be for what lies ahead.  The staff has experience working with talented student-athletes of all ages.  The earlier we are able to work with you, the better the results.

Can NLP guarantee me a Division 1 scholarship?

No.  Next Level Prep can help make you a better athlete so you'll be more attractive to college coaches.  We will also see to it that those coaches know about you.  Less than 2% of high school athletes will play at the NCAA Division 1 level.  However, most athletes do not have Next Level Prep on their side.  That being said, we are not solely focused on placing athletes at the highest level possible.  Often, an athlete would prefer to play on a full scholarship for a lower division school.  We just want to give you appealing options to choose from.  Life is all about connections.  Next Level Prep will help bring these options to the table by connecting you with coaches all across the country.

What are my responsibilities?

You will receive questionnaires in the mail from college coaches that you must respond to.  It will be your responsibility to get us your highlight film each year.  Of course, you must use the off-season to get yourself in tip-top shape because that's when champions are made.  Your grades and SAT / ACT preparations are also vitally important.  The good news is that we are here to help.  Our staff is on call seven days a week to answer all your recruiting questions.  The staff at NLP is only looking for prep football players who are dedicated to playing at the next level.  That dedication takes sacrifice and determination.  We have little interest in promoting an athlete that lacks integrity or who is likely to drop out of school after the first week of two-a-days.  Our credibility is on the line when we promote an athlete.  We expect excellence on and off the field.  We also expect you to hold NLP to that same standard of excellence.
